Security Monitoring

After-Hours CCTV Monitoring

Most losses happen when nobody is on site. After-hours monitoring covers the hours your building is empty, without paying for cover you do not need during trading.

An empty site has a very different risk profile from a busy one. Once the doors are locked, almost any movement is worth a second look, which makes closed hours the most productive time for live human monitoring and the most cost-effective place to start.

This service covers the specific windows you nominate. Many clients run after-hours monitoring first, review the reports, and then decide whether to extend into trading hours.

Opening and closing checks

The start and end of the closed period are the two moments most worth documenting.

  • Confirmation that the premises were properly closed and secured
  • Observation of the final staff departure where cameras allow
  • Confirmation that opening took place at the expected time
  • Reports on doors, shutters, or gates left open overnight

Service Conditions

Lighting dependency

Night monitoring depends heavily on site lighting and camera infrared performance. Where images are unusable, we say so in the CCTV risk review rather than monitoring a feed that cannot produce a reliable observation.

Monitoring scope

Operators monitor visible activity within the available camera coverage during the agreed hours only. Activity outside those hours or outside camera view is not covered.

Full conditions applying to every Netex Security service are set out on the Service Limitations page.

Questions

Questions about after-hours cctv monitoring

Can I run monitoring only on the nights I choose?

Yes. Schedules can differ by day, and many clients monitor only the nights that follow cash handling, deliveries, or high-value stock movements.

What happens if someone approaches the building at 3am?

The operator verifies what is visible, then follows your escalation instructions. Depending on what you have approved, that may mean a phone call, a message, an audio warning where the system supports it, or contact with your alarm company or the relevant authorities.

Will I be called for every movement?

No. Verification exists precisely to stop that. You set the threshold during protocol setup, and operators assess activity against it before contacting anyone.
