Residential Property Monitoring

Live human monitoring for private homes, gated properties, second residences and homes left empty while owners travel.

A home camera system almost always ends up in the same place. It records perfectly, the owner checks it once a week, and the footage only gets watched after something has already happened. The technology worked. Nobody was looking.

Residential monitoring puts a person on the other end of the cameras during the hours that matter to you, usually overnight or while the property is empty. Operators watch the approaches, the entrances and the areas you flag, assess what they see against instructions you wrote, and contact you the way you asked to be contacted. Most nights nothing happens and you hear nothing. That is the service working.

Common security risks

  • Approach and forced entry at doors, patio doors, and ground-floor windows
  • Vehicles or people loitering on the driveway or approach road before an attempt
  • Package and delivery theft from porches and entrances
  • Break-ins during holidays, business travel, and other predictable empty periods
  • Theft from garages, outbuildings, garden stores, and side returns
  • Tampering with cameras, external lighting, or gates before an attempt
  • Repeat visits from the same vehicle or individual over consecutive nights
  • Vandalism and trespass on larger plots and gated properties

Operational challenges

  • Motion alerts that fire constantly for wildlife, weather, headlights, and passing pedestrians
  • Nobody available to check an alert at three in the morning
  • App notifications that get muted after the first week because there are too many
  • No way to tell an ordinary delivery from someone testing the property
  • Second homes and rental properties with nobody nearby to look
  • Cameras that stop recording without anyone noticing for weeks
  • Household members who need different instructions at different times

Questions

Residential Property Monitoring: common questions

Will your operators be watching inside my home?

Only cameras you specifically nominate, and never cameras covering bathrooms, bedrooms, changing areas, or other private spaces. Most residential clients nominate exterior cameras only. You decide the list, it is written into the protocol, and it does not change without your instruction.

What happens if the operator sees something at 3am?

Exactly what your protocol says. For most households that means a phone call to the homeowner first, then a second named contact if the first does not answer, and emergency services only where you have authorised it in advance. We do not attend the property ourselves.

Can you monitor only while we are away?

Yes. Scheduled monitoring for holidays and travel periods is one of the most common residential arrangements. Give us the dates and the escalation contacts, and the protocol runs for that window.

Do we need to give you our account password?

No, and you should not give it to anyone. You create a separate named account with viewing permissions for the cameras in scope. You can remove it at any time without touching your own login.
