Frequently Asked Questions
Organised by topic. If your question is not here, call us and ask.
Monitoring
Is monitoring performed by humans?
Yes. Trained operators watch the feeds on shift. Software may assist an operator in bringing a feed forward, but nothing is escalated to you without a person having looked at it first.
Can Netex monitor my existing cameras?
In most cases yes. The service is designed around cameras clients already own. During the CCTV risk review we confirm whether your NVR, DVR, or cloud platform can be accessed securely and produces usable images, and we tell you plainly if part of your system is unsuitable.
Can Netex monitor only at night?
Yes, and many clients start that way. See after-hours CCTV monitoring. Schedules can differ by day and by site.
Can Netex monitor multiple locations?
Yes. Multi-site clients run one monitoring protocol with site-specific contact lists and consistent reporting. See multi-location CCTV monitoring.
What happens when suspicious activity is observed?
The operator assesses what is visible, checks it against your written monitoring protocol, and if it meets your escalation threshold, begins your approved escalation sequence with live updates. If it does not meet the threshold, it is still logged and appears in your report.
Who receives alerts?
Whoever you nominate, in the order you set. That may include the owner, a manager, an on-site guard, an emergency contact, your alarm company, or the relevant authorities where your protocol authorises it.
Can Netex issue audio warnings?
Where your CCTV system supports audio output, you have authorised it in writing, and local law permits it. See audio warning and remote deterrence. It is not available on every system.
Equipment and Access
Does Netex install cameras?
No. We are a monitoring and business-operations partner, not a CCTV installation company. We work with the system you have, and if it needs improvement we will tell you what and why so your installer can quote for it.
Which systems are supported?
Compatibility is assessed per site rather than published as a list we cannot guarantee. What matters is whether the system can be accessed securely through a client-created account and produces images of usable quality. Most mainstream recorders and cloud platforms qualify.
What internet connection is required?
A stable connection with enough upload bandwidth to carry the streams we monitor. Requirements scale with camera count and resolution, and are confirmed during the compatibility check.
How is camera access protected?
Through named, role-based accounts that you create, with least-privilege permissions and multi-factor authentication where supported. We never use shared logins or owner accounts. See the Authorized Account Access Policy.
What happens if a camera goes offline?
It is reported the same shift to your nominated technical contact, with the camera name and the time the fault was first observed. See camera health and system monitoring.
Reports
Are daily reports included?
Yes. A daily report is standard on monitored sites, with a fixed structure so it can be scanned quickly and compared over time. See daily operational reporting.
Can I receive incident screenshots?
Where your system and permissions allow it, yes. Screenshots and short clips can be attached to an incident report to document a specific event.
Can Netex locate recorded footage?
Yes. Because events are logged live with timestamps and camera references, retrieving the right footage becomes a short task rather than an afternoon of searching. Recorded footage stays on your system.
Are weekly and monthly reports available?
Yes, and they are where patterns become visible. Weekly summaries consolidate exceptions; monthly summaries suit owner and management review.
Finance and Inventory
Does Netex provide accounting services?
No. Netex Security is not a licensed accounting firm. We provide monitoring observations, reconciliation support, and management reports. Final accounting, tax, payroll, audit, legal, and financial decisions remain the client’s responsibility.
Can Netex verify refunds and voids?
Yes, where the till area is covered by cameras and you supply transaction records or a POS exception feed. See cash and transaction verification.
Can Netex support inventory reconciliation?
We support it. Your team counts and signs off; we observe movements, verify what cameras show, and report discrepancies. See inventory management.
Does Netex integrate with POS systems?
Where the platform supports export or an exception feed. We do not claim universal POS compatibility, and compatibility is confirmed before that service starts. See POS exception verification.
Telecom
Which carrier platforms are supported?
Only platforms you authorise and where we genuinely hold the relevant experience. The platforms we may support are listed on the carrier portal support page, together with the conditions that apply.
Does portal support require written permission?
Yes, without exception. Portal work requires written client authorisation, named role-based credentials issued by you, and defined scope. We never ask for shared logins or passwords over unsecured channels.
Can Netex help with device transfers?
Yes, where authorised. Transfer processing, verification at both ends, and identification of incorrect transfers are covered under telecom inventory management and carrier portal support.
Can Netex prepare store-performance reports?
Yes. Activation performance, employee and store rankings, and commission report preparation are covered under telecom sales and commission reporting. Final approval and payroll remain yours.
Security Test
Is the CCTV risk review free?
Yes. The review covers your existing coverage, camera compatibility, and monitoring gaps, and you receive the findings whether or not you continue.
How do the three monitoring nights work?
We agree a monitoring schedule and escalation instructions, connect through an account you create, and monitor for three nights. You receive monitoring and incident reports covering what was observed.
Is equipment purchase required?
No. The test runs on the compatible cameras you already own. If your system cannot support monitoring, we tell you during the review rather than selling you hardware.
Is a long-term contract required?
The test itself carries no ongoing commitment. Terms for continuing afterwards are set out before the test begins so there are no surprises.
Still deciding? Test it for three nights
