Opening and Closing Verification

Two moments decide most of the night’s risk: how the building was closed and whether it opened when it should have.

Closing is the highest-value five minutes of the day for a monitoring operator. A back door left on the latch, a shutter half down, or a cash drawer left in the till is the difference between an uneventful night and a claim.

Verification runs at both ends. We confirm the close was done properly, and we confirm the opening happened at the expected time by the expected people.

Service Conditions

Visibility

Verification is limited to what cameras can see. A door outside camera coverage, or an alarm panel in an unmonitored room, cannot be confirmed and is reported as unverified rather than assumed.

Escalation

Where a closing exception is observed, escalation follows the client’s approved protocol. We do not attend sites and cannot secure premises physically.

Full conditions applying to every Netex Security service are set out on the Service Limitations page.

Questions

Questions about opening and closing verification

What happens if the shop is left unlocked?

The operator escalates immediately under your protocol, usually to the manager or keyholder, and continues watching the premises while contact is made.

Can you tell whether the alarm was set?

Only where the panel or its indicator is visible on camera. Otherwise we report the observation as unverified. We do not integrate with alarm panels unless that has been separately agreed.

Do we get a report even when nothing went wrong?

Yes. Confirmation that closing was done correctly is exactly as useful as an exception, particularly for insurance and for managing a rota of keyholders.
